Madonna’s toyboy Timor Steffens has revealed he prefers older women – because they remind him of his mum.

The dancer, 26, has dated the chart-topping singer, 56, since January and despite her age, he hopes they will have children. Timor said: “There is an age gap between me and Madonna but I don’t notice it. “My girlfriends have always been older than me and that’s how I like it. I learn a lot. “Mum is a big inspiration. She is a fighter, a strong independent woman, and any relationship I’ve had in the past was mostly with women that are independent and like to have an opinion.”

Netherlands-born Timor told how his mum was so important as he grew up because he had no father figure when his parents split. He said: “I want to be a dad, it’s my goal to have my own family, that’s there in the back of my mind all the time.” Madonna first introduced Timor as her boyfriend at designer Rudolph Valentino’s New Year’s Eve Party in Switzerland.

They have since been inseparable and Timor has become close to her four children. He said: “I hang out with a lot of celebrities. I hang out with their kids, I see the world. “But I do that because I genuinely care for who they are as a person. I’m a very loving person – if I hang out with them it’s because I have a big connection with them.” Timor says he and Madonna spend much of their time together in the gym. He said: “Madonna is so disciplined with the gym, which is great. “I’m in shape, I’ve got a washboard stomach but she inspires me to go that extra mile. I call it ‘besting’ when I workout really hard.” Speaking of Madonna’s religion, Kabbalah, he said: “I like it, it’s spiritual – I’m not a member of it but I am into it.”

Having worked with the pop star on her music film secretprojectrevolution, Timor said she had inspired him creatively and as a person. He explained: “She always looks for new challenges in life. “When everyone walks down the right path, she will walk the left path to show that she has a vision and her own way of expressing things. “She is a very strong woman and doesn’t need to follow the mainstream. That’s what makes her an artist.” Madonna was yesterday spotted in Ibi za aft er celebrating her birthday in Cannes earlier this week.
