Liam Gallagher is so furious with brother Noel after an Oasis song featured in the John Lewis Christmas advert he banned him from their family’s local pub.

The band’s former frontman branded Noel, 48, a “sell-out” after he allowed Half The World Away to be used as the soundtrack for the department store’s hugely popular marketing campaign. Noel wrote the song among other Oasis hits like Don’t Look Back in Anger.

Sources claim fuming Liam, 43, told family members not to invite him to the pub they visit at Christmas. The brothers had been set to stay with their mum Peggy in her native Ireland over the holidays. She has a home in Charlestown, Co Mayo, and is a regular at J J Finan’s bar.

But a pal said: “Liam has been making his usual snidey remarks about the song being on the John Lewis advert. He was ranting that Noel is a sell-out and shameless. He doesn’t want their visits to cross over.”

The 1994 song became the theme tune to sitcom The Royle Family. The version for John Lewis by singer Aurora has entered the top ten.
