TV soccer pundit Jamie Redknapp enjoys a night out on the town – as wife Louise assures pals: “Our marriage is not over for good”.

The couple have been struggling to piece their 19-year marriage back together after being torn apart by the former Eternal singer’s gruelling stint on Strictly Come Dancing. Friends say the experience not only took her away from Jamie for long periods but also gave Louise a taste of the showbiz life she had left behind.

Ultimatum

One source said: “Louise is having a bit of a mid-life crisis. She wants to be a young hip woman, but Jamie is content to watch telly and eat his meal on a TV tray, then off to bed.” Revealing that Louise, 42, feared Jamie was “becoming an older man too soon”, the pal added: “She’s given him a sort of ultimatum. She wants him to wake up and smell the coffee. Leaving him is her way of saying, ‘This is serious’.” Louise has moved out of the couple’s mansion in Oxshott, Surrey, and is living 15 minutes away.

But Jamie, 44, was showing no sign of being old before his time as he partied with mates to mark the end of filming on Sky 1 show A League of Their Own. He was said to be “happy and relaxed” on a night out in London’s Soho.

Joined by his Sky team-mate, comic Jack Whitehall, 29, and other pals he knocked back drinks and danced the night away at trendy spot MNKY HSE. Clubbers said the former England player looked in his element joking with mates including Tamara Ecclestone’s partner Jay Rutland and Essex businessman Adam Brooks. But earlier in the week he pulled out of a press day with Whitehall and co-star James Corden to plug the show.

Wife Louise was pictured last week returning to the UK for showdown talks – still wearing her wedding ring. The pair have yet to comment on their troubled marriage. But a friend said: “Louise told a few of us her and Jamie are still unbelievably close and in constant communication. “But she needs more out of him. They will end up coming back together – that’s the consensus among their mates.

“They’re a strong family, brilliant parents and they don’t want to lose that solidarity but Jamie really has become dull and Louise wants to gee him up.” Jamie and Louise have not been seen together in months. This week Louise took their sons Charley, 12, and Beau, eight, on a trip to Mallorca without him. Jamie’s mum Sandra is said by pals to have been devastated by her son’s split, telling friends it has been “a year of hell”. She suffered damage to leg ligaments after being run over by husband, Birmingham City manager Harry.

Mojo

And earlier this month it was revealed Harry, 70, had had a cancer scare. A tumour removed from his bladder was later found to be non-malignant. Problems are said to have started for Jamie and Louise during last year’s Strictly Come Dancing. They spent a lot of time apart then she appeared on the live tour. “Reports this week suggested Louise found her “mojo” again after bonding with fellow Strictly star Daisy Lowe, 28. Lousie, a runner-up on Strictly, joins Will Young for a touring production of Cabaret in September – making her stage debut as Sally Bowles.
